Barron

Have you visited the new store in Milan?

Lena Barron, a first year teacher at Milan Elementary School, and her third grade students have started, "Shop or Save". This is a student incentive store that students use to drive their math instruction.  It began with the phrase “coin shortage” and has prompted the students to attain Mrs. Barron’s expectations both academically and behaviorally.  Her students can earn money simply by following the rules and are charged for improper behavior or lack of homework.  Her students are learning how to save for the “bigger” items and now want to learn how to compute “sale” prices.  She frequently talks with her class about good character and being responsible. Her students and parents are all onboard and excited about the new store, Shop or Save.
